We are looking to go skiiing in France (in the alpes) and wondered whether anyone could recommend the best place(s) to go. We would like a short transfer time from the airport if possible.

I would recommend the Val d'Isere as it is one of the best ski resorts in the Alps. There are 300km of slopes and the highest altitude is 3450 m.
The nearest airport is Chambery (1h30 mins).
