Hello - we are thinking of buying a house in the Dordogne that is currently under a standard 3-6-9 commercial lease. Ground floor is used as a restaurant and floors above (which is an apartment) used by lessee as storage. There is still about 6 years remaining, which is okay with us.
At the expiration of the lease, can we either: (a) have tenants evicted so that we can move into the house or (b) re-draft the lease so that we can live in the top floors while still leasing out the ground floor.
Will we be subject to some sort of compensation or indemnification to the tenant if we do so? |

Please let me have copy of the lease. Only then can I advise what your rights might be.
